Aaron J. DeLuca has significant asbestos litigation and trial experience and has successfully represented mesothelioma patients and other victims of corporate indifference throughout the United States and in a number of foreign countries.  He handles mesothelioma cases on behalf of his firm’s clients and has served as asbestos trial counsel for mesothelioma clients of a number of other law firms on a national basis.  He has negotiated and achieved settlements in asbestos cases in excess of $100,000,000.00.

Mr. DeLuca has developed substantial expertise in the areas of asbestos medicine and industrial hygiene.  Frequently asked to speak before groups of both plaintiff and defense lawyers on medical and scientific issues unique to toxic tort litigation, DeLuca is nationally recognized as an expert in the use of technology in discovery, trial preparation and in the courtroom.

Mr. DeLuca has handled mesothelioma cases for a wide variety of tradesmen, including plumbers, pipefitters, steamfitters, sprinklerfitters, boilermakers, insulators, mechanics, carpenters, steelworkers and shipyard workers.  He has also represented the children and wives of those who were occupationally exposed to asbestos and brought asbestos dust home on their clothing. 

Mr. DeLuca has successfully handled difficult litigation involving low-dose chrysotile exposures including floor tile, friction, gasket, valve packing and equipment defendants and has successfully handled cases against premises liability defendants including cases of primary, bystander and household exposure.

Mr. DeLuca has developed close working and personal relationships with some of the world’s foremost experts in asbestos issues and has successfully defended them in various courts against FryeDaubert, Havner, Borg Warner, Robinson and Gentry challenges.  He is frequently consulted and retained by other lawyers to assist them when confronted by defense motions to exclude or limit scientific evidence and testimony.  In fact, because of his expertise in this area, Mr. DeLuca has been retained on numerous occasions by various experts to serve as their personal counsel.

Mr. DeLuca has tried numerous asbestos cases to verdict, including the first successful premises liability case ever against United States Steel on behalf of an employee of outside contractor who worked at the United States Steel Clairton Works for four weeks in 1968.  In 2002, Mr. DeLuca was asked to handle many of the pretrial and trial issues involving the experts in a consolidated trial in West Virginia involving approximately 8000 asbestos-harmed individuals.  The verdict in favor of the plaintiffs and against Union Carbide Corporation garnered national attention.  

In 2008, within the span of three months, Mr. DeLuca and his firm obtained a $7 Million verdict on behalf of a carpenter who died from mesothelioma and a $4 Million verdict on behalf of a deceased painter. 

Recently, Mr. DeLuca was named by Law & Politics Magazine as a 2008 Texas Rising Star.

Russell Lewis was born in Phoenix, Arizona and grew up in Crossville, Tennessee.  He attended Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and in 2002 with a Master of Business Administration.  He is a 2005 graduate of the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis.  Before entering private practice, Russell attended the National Judicial College and served as a Hearing Officer for the State of Tennessee.  Russell practices in the areas of nursing home negligence, medical malpractice and personal injury.

Robert A. Chaffin has been practicing law in Houston, Texas, for 30 years.
